Poutous Auto Repair was organized in August 1968. We started in
a Mobil service station located on the northeast corner of Stella Link
and Beechnut. The business was started by Lou and Gus Poutous.
Gus remained at the station until 1974. At this time Lou and Gus
purchased O'Quinn automotive and opened the doors as Poutous
Auto Repair.
In 1984, Gus left and opened Poutous 1960 Auto Repair in the
Willowbrook Mall area.
Both Lou and Gus still work every day at their respective locations.
In 1981 Lou's son Michael began working at the shop. He worked
during summer breaks and whenever he had a break during
school. In 1988 Michael went to work full time.
Michael was joined by his brother-in-law John in 1992. He is a
graduate of Texas A&M University with a degree in economics.
Today Lou, Mike and John run the business. All three of them
can be found on the premises almost every day.
In 2002 trying to better service our customers we opened our
collision repair center. It is located next to our mechanical repair
center.
